Antonio Henrique Amaral is a Brazilian artist born in 1935. Amaral originally received his education in Law, but moved into art after attending the 1st Biennial in São Paolo. From then on, he studied art and exhibited his work in Brazil.

His favorite subject to paint is the banana, which was influenced by numerous other artists, including his aunt. From these artists, the banana became a symbol for Brazil. This also led Amaral to paint a series of banana paintings, representing the changes in Brazil’s government and politics.
